View to the ocean is off to the left. Cottage is oriented to be passively cooled by sea breezes.

Structure is light framed using 2x4's with redundant lateral supports for seismic and wind mitigation.

Victoria is using epoxy to waterproof the sloped wood troff that forms the ceiling to the kitchen below. This area will be covered with a local cedar deck.

Lauren is standing on the deck with the ocean view behind her. Beneath her is the drain troff that Victoria was working on in the previous slide.

View to the West overlooking lower meadow and pond.

Balcony detail.

All finish wood in the cottage is either local mahogany or cedar.

Interior design and theme is reminiscent of a late 1700's English castaway, using parts of a ship to construct a lookout cottage on a hillside.
